For full roofline replacement we fit quality uPVC systems with the boards, trims and ventilation named on the quote, old materials disposed of properly (waste-carrier licensed), and the same photographed handover as every job. Straight answers
Do you cap over old timber or replace it?
Replace, as standard. Capping over rotten timber hides the problem and voids most guarantees — if a quote is dramatically cheaper, that's often why. Where existing timber is sound we'll say so and price accordingly.
How often should gutters be cleared here?
Annually for most streets; twice a year if you're under the big trees on roads like Widney Manor or Streetsbrook. Blocked gutters are behind a surprising share of the damp calls we get — it's the cheapest prevention in roofing.
Can this be done without scaffolding?
Gutter work usually yes, from ladders or a tower with proper edge protection. Full roofline replacement on two-storey homes sometimes needs scaffold on tight access — if so it's a printed line on the quote, never a surprise.
